The topic of the ICAS ETF 2023 will be \u201cFuture Air Mobility \u2013 Barriers and<\/strong> Enablers\u201d<\/strong>. Recent developments in air mobility offer a tantalising glimpse of the future, but there surely remain challenges which would benefit from the attention of the global research community. Join us in a combined presentation\/panel discussion format across four themes, where we will aim to draw out the key research areas required to realise the vision of modern-day innovators in air mobility.<\/p>\n

Technological aspects:<\/strong><\/span> What have we achieved and what are we yet to accomplish to enhance the future air mobility vehicle performance in terms of flight control, payload, range and field capability? What are the noise and environmental challenges? How far can automation take us?<\/p>\n

Operational aspects: <\/strong><\/span>There are multiple Concept of Operations worldwide, but what are the commonalities and regional differences? Do we need harmonization? Can we integrate new and traditional airspace users in a safe and efficient manner? What training is needed?<\/p>\n

Commercial aspects:<\/strong><\/span> Future air mobility has been gathering both interest and investment. What are the market forecasts and how are they viewed by various stakeholders? Can we respond to the challenges in supply chains? How can an investment analyst risk assessment help us to define the key research areas?<\/p>\n

Infrastructure and community aspects:<\/strong><\/span> Vehicles will not be enough to realise the future air mobility. Vertiports and new infrastructure to support safe and efficient operations will be the key. What challenges and opportunities are there? What is the right way to engage the community and build the smart cities of the future?<\/p>\n
